Adaptations for the big screen
Marc Levy masterfully creates characters and stories that lend themselves to audiovisual adaptations.
Steven Spielberg acquired film rights to his first novel If Only It Were True (Et si c’était vrai) before the book had even been published, and Just Like Heaven, starring Mark Ruffalo and Reese Witherspoon, was ranked number one at the American box office on its release in 2005.
London mon amour (Mes amis mes amours) and Finding you (Où es-tu ?) have also been adapted—the former into a feature film and the latter into a TV series.
The TV adaptation of Marc’s novel All Those Things We Never Said (Toutes ces choses qu’on ne s’est pas dites) (Canal Plus/StarzPlay), starring Jean Reno and directed by Miguel Courtois, was released in 2022.
Marc also has other novels currently being adapted for film and TV: PS from Paris (Elle & Lui), The Shadow Thief (Le Voleur d’ombres), The Little Shadow Thief (Le Petit voleur d’ombres, set to be an animated series), as well as Ghost in Love.
