The Summer Break
It’s summer and the Little Shadow Thief is off to the beach with his mother for a few days, where he meets Cléa. Born deaf and mute, she talks with her hands. In order to reveal his power to her, our hero gets acquainted with sign language. In exchange, Cléa takes him to a secret place.
These seaside vacations promise to be unforgettable ones!
A new adventure of The Little Shadow Thief, directly inspired by Marc Levy’s novel and illustrated by Fred Bernard, Children’s Literature Goncourt Prize triple laureate.
“The author […] takes a delicate, no-nonsense approach to the theme of separation.”
“The novelist falls back to his childhood, revisiting his book for children. And it’s a success. Sheer nostalgia and bliss emanate from the pages, and Fred Bernard’s pencil illustrations add the perfect, real-life touch to this fantastic, moving story.”
“With the story of this two-feet tall shadow thief struggling to fit in at his new school, the star novelist tackles themes such as difference, and parental separation.”
